Greg Blewett Outreach Program

In South Australia Sporting Chance works with the Greg Blewett Outreach Program.

The Greg Blewett Outreach Program commenced at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital on July 13th 2009.  Approximately 60 new patients are diagnosed at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Department of Clinical Haematology/Oncology each year, with approximately 30% of the families coming from greater than 100km from the treatment centre. Since 1st January 2010, rather than the 30% expected we have had almost 40% of new patients from regional Australia and eligible for the outreach programme. Visits are undertaken to the key areas which included Darwin, Alice Springs, Mildura, Broken Hill, Mount Gambier, Port Augusta, and Berri.
